Burns

Superficial or Deep?

Did the burn penetrate to the dermal layer (in which case there will be long-term scarring) or was it confined to the epidermal layer? in which case full healing is likely.

Superficial: erythematous skin, blisters,

Did the patient inhale fumes?
Singed hair around the face and black tongue and throat may indicate patient has inhaled fumes.
Chief among concerns here is carbon monoxide inhalation. Also cyanide poisoning.
